Good color and right transmission. Price is lower than I would have expected, but then again 200k miles. Probably will need work (I would guess timing belt, water pump, and tires to start) but for less than $2k it seems like fun!

I wouldn’t wait to long to get a timing belt done. But other than that it seems like a really nice car

Seems a pretty fair price to me! Likely will need some work done to it....at least see if the timing belt has been done in awhile! Looks like a nice example though! :)
Lawrie’s Mechanical Marvels has one! Awesome Youtube channel if you’ve not seen them!
:D

Could be fun. Gt-s has a much more fun engine, but it also has more headaches associated with the lift bolts etc.
I drove a friend’s GT-S back in the day and thought it was pretty fun. It handled great, i think they only weigh around 2400 lbs and i’d expect the GT and GT-S to be pretty similar in that regard.

i think the main problem those had was that they powered the wrong wheels

valve guide seals, and thin oil galleys means if it was well looked after its probably fine, if it had delayed maintenance on cheap conventional oil...

Only word of caution: some earlier 1ZZ-FEs had oil consumption issues. Keep an eye on that. I have the 1ZZ in my wife's car, but I bought an '08 when the bugs had all been worked out on that motor.
That said, that is hella cheap for how it looks. I'd buy it.
